Youth Friendship Club for members ages approx 10 to 15 years

Dear Galway Branch Members,

Two of our members, Rachel Fahy and Ciara Hartigan, are hoping to set up a Youth Friendship Club for members ages approx 10 to 15 years, based in the new DSG
West Centre. It will be an opportunity to meet and have fun in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. It will be led and supported by the participating parents who we hope
will also benefit from friendship and support of the Club.

Activities would include:
Karaoke and Dancing
Arts & Crafts
Snack preparation
Going on outings, i.e. to the movies or bowling
Themed discos and activities, i.e. Halloween, Christmas, Easter etc
Guests from time to time to join the sessions, i.e. dancers, musicians, yoga etc
The young members will be involved helping out with the activities of the Club,
setting up, preparation etc.
Any other activities they would like to do.

Anyone who is interested in joining the Club please come along next Thursday 21 February from 10 to 12 for an introductory session with karaoke and dancing.
It would be great to meet up over a coffee and chat about what the Club could offer and how often we could meet.
Please let either Ciara 0864006092 or Rachel on 0860788768 know if you are coming so we have an idea of numbers.
(rachlfahy@hotmail.com or hartiganciara@gmail.com )We look forward to getting together then.

All the best
Ciara & Rachel

We hope that with this selection of classes/workshops/Activities that you will be able to find something for your child to enjoy.
We are aware (and disappointed) that there is nothing here for our Adults with DS. These classes have been organised by parents so we would love parents/siblings/carers and adults with DS to come forward with some ideas and suggestions.
Even something as simple as just getting together one evening a month and work from there. Please spread the word, it only takes a small group to start and become something amazing.
