We aim to provide information, support and friendship to people with Down syndrome and their families in Galway City and County, working towards an improved quality of life with respect and acceptance of people with Down syndrome as valued members of their community.

We recognise the importance of early intervention and developing communication ability.

We aim to create opportunities for social and personal inclusion and integration across the age spectrum

We are very excited to be commencing a drama workshop at your DSG West Centre

Dee O Reilly who has years of experience in teaching drama to children with special needs,
over 5 years of experience working with the Blue Teapot Theatre Company.
Our aim is to model the drama course on the Blue Teapot company for our members aged 9 to 15 years.

Date: Commencing Thursday 12th & Thursday 19th December (4 dates in 2020 TBC)
Time: 4.30 to 6 pm
Duration: 6-week course
Location: DSG West Centre, Moycullen
Age Group: 9 years to 15 years
Availability: only 10 spaces available & will be filled on a first-come basis.
Cost: 6-week course is €30 (The balance of the cost of the course is being funded by DSG)
Full €30 has to be paid on the first day of the drama workshop.

This is a very exciting course and a lot of interest has been expressed.

Voices for Down Syndrome Galway will proudly represent GALWAY CITY at the 2019 IPB PRIDE OF PLACE NATIONAL AWARDS, taking place in Kilkenny on Saturday night.

Following the Speech Therapy Project overall win for voluntary achievement at the annual Mayor Awards, Galway City Council nominated Voices for this prestigious national award in the category of Community Reaching Out Initiative.

Pride of Place Judges came to visit Voices speech therapy clinic in NUI Galway, which entailed delivering a co-joined presentation on the project, meeting with members, therapists, and founders of the project.

Bounce, a club night for adults with intellectual disabilities, takes place once a month on a Monday night in the Roisin Dubh, Galway. Bounce is supported by the award winning That’s Life; an arts programme of the Brothers of Charity Services Galway, which offers people with intellectual disabilities opportunities to discover and realise their artistic potential through working with established artists and participating in high quality arts programmes. Bounce grew out of the highly successful Club Tropicana in the Black Box, giving the ongoing success of this night we decided to create more opportunities for our DJs, VJs and club goers to access club nights more regularly.

Bounce aims to offer a fun, safe and accessible space for people of all abilities to socialise with their friends and dance in a mainstream club environment.

DJ's play a wide range of music, from pop and rock, to hip and RnB to timeless classics that are sure to get everyone dancing.
