As the countdown continues to World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st, why not get involved?
Host a Lots of Socks party in your school, community, or workplace to show your support for World Down Syndrome Day and help support Down Syndrome Ireland Galway Branch.
World Down Syndrome Day takes place on the 21st day of the 3rd month to represent the extra copy (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome that people with Down syndrome are born with. Chromosomes also look a lot like socks under a microscope!
Wear your mismatched, colourful socks on the day to celebrate, start conversations, and raise awareness. Or you can buy limited edition socks that were designed by Amy, a member of the DSI Mayo Branch. Buy here: https://downsyndrome.ie/shop/
If you can’t run an event but would still like to donate to help fund vital services and activities for our members, feel free to scan the QR code to make a contribution.
If you’d like more information about Lots of Socks, please feel free to reach out to the branch. We’d be delighted to hear from you.
