“21 Seconds Together”

Leinster House to Light Up for World Down Syndrome Day

Join the “21 Seconds Together” Campaign.

To mark World Down Syndrome Day, Leinster House will light up in celebration of inclusion, community and solidarity.

This year, the Oireachtas is proud to lead “21 Seconds Together”- a campaign inspired by the global theme “Together Against Loneliness.”

They are inviting individuals, schools, workplaces and community groups to take part in a simple but powerful act of connection:

⏱ Take 21 seconds

👫Stand beside someone

🗣 Say: “No One Stands Alone.”

📲Nominate 3 others to do the same

Why 21 seconds?

It represents the extra copy of chromosome 21 that people with Down Syndrome are born with, known as Trisomy 21.

A small moment can carry a powerful message – that inclusion matters, friendship matters, and nobody should ever feel left out. 💜
