Fionnathan Announces the Abundance Project
Fionnathan Productions (a social enterprise by son and father Fionn and Jonathan Angus) has announced the launch of their new Abundance Project, to explore supported entrepreneurship led by people with Down syndrome. This seven-month project begins this September and is enrolling now.
Last year’s course, Creative Approaches to Practical Community Advocacy (CAPCA), was such a success that the Irish government provided them a bigger grant for their next project.
Through generous funding distributed by Rethink Ireland, they have scholarships available for teams made up of a person with Down syndrome and their chosen supporter (family member, friend or professional), to join through March of 2026. Part-time, mostly online, typically one evening per week, this project should fit many active schedules.
Details of the project are found at https://www.fionnathan.com/capca-abundance-projects/registration
Their long-term plan for Abundance is to create a vital entrepreneurial network, a novel approach to tackling the high Down Syndrome unemployment rate, which they believe represents gifts squandered by society. But rather than entry-level jobs, they want to see supported entrepreneurship.
As Fionn said while meeting executives from Google and Microsoft, “The biggest obstacle to my career success has been people’s low expectations.”
And Jonathan asks, “Shouldn’t people be empowered to contribute to society, and even perhaps get rich, on their own terms?”
You may have heard a bit about Fionnathan. Their Happiness Project channel, with nearly 700 interviews including Cillian Murphy, Mary Robinson, Gerry Adams, Coolio and Angela Lansbury, has over 5 million YouTube views. Fionn addressed the United Nations in New York for World Down Syndrome Day this year. And they were each named Irish Men of the Year in the 2025 Rémy Martin Awards (Fionn as Inclusion and Diversity Advocate, Jonathan as Arts and Culture Advocate). Through the Abundance Project, they offer to share the secrets of their success.
Well done to Fionnathan Productions and all their hard work 🙌
