Into the Heart

Into the Heart…

Soprano and Piano Duo, Helen Hancock and Mark Keane will present a recital in the auditorium of Galway Community College, Moneenageisha on February 21st at 8 pm.

The program will explore themes of night and dreams emerging into love. It will include lieder by Brahms, Strauss, Mendelssohn and Schubert, French song by Fauré, and Debussy and opera arias by Handel and Mozart.

Helen, an Oranmore soprano, is now in her fifth year of vocal studies with tenor, Professor Owen Gilhooly at the Midwest Vocal Academy in Limerick.
Galway native Mark recently completed doctoral studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music/Trinity College Dublin and is in demand as an international organ recitalist, conductor and accompanist.

Helen and Mark perform together regularly, most recently at the Yeats Tower, Thoor Ballylee in Galway for Heritage week in 2019.
They will also perform a lunchtime recital in Limerick in St Mary’s Cathedral Lunchtime Series in June.
Helen, also the conductor of the Marine Singers and a teacher in Coole Music, Galway, has this to say:
“I love using my own voice to raise much-needed funds to help children to find their voice”.
