The Maynooth Students for Charity Galway Cycle
The Maynooth Students for Charity Galway Cycle arrives into Galway city this Friday 8th April in support of Down Syndrome Ireland (http://www2.galwaycycle.ie/)
This is the 28th year of the cycle and a second time partnership for Down Syndrome Ireland (in 2012 the cycle raised €150k for DSI, with a generous donation of €10k to DSI Galway Branch)
The cycle will come through Ballinasloe, Loughrea and Oranmore (times to be confirmed), to finish outside the Merrick Hotel, Galway City Centre at 5.30pm this Friday 8th April. To support this event, we ask our Galway branch families to come out and support the cyclists on route, as they make their way through Co Galway to Galway city.
The cycle will finish outside the Merrick Hotel at 5.30pm on Friday 8th April, where the Mayor of Galway will be in attendance, we ask our branch families to come along and join our Mayor in welcoming the 150 cyclists to the city of the Tribes, after their 12 hour cycle from Maynooth to Galway. Bring flags, banners (home made will do) to show your support to the cyclists and a big DSI Galway welcome to our city.
We also need a few volunteers to help hand out bottles of water and snacks to the cyclists after they cross the finish line…can you help?
The cyclists will return to Maynooth early on Sunday morning after breakfast in Loughrea . We need 5 volunteers to help the breakfast crew dish out breakfast on the Sunday morning (venue to be confirmed). If you live in/near the Loughrea area or its a short drive from your home…can you help for 1hr (approx. 6-7am) on Sunday morning 10th April?
