What a lovely celebration for World Down Syndrome Day……

Michelle & Christine, 2 of our parents, created this picture board of some of our members, displayed it in Galway University Hospital on World DS Day,  Along with lots of treats & information to get people talking & to create awareness about Down Syndrome.
 
Lots of people to thank for making the day such a success:
  • The amazing mums: Martha, Aoife, Joanne, Claire, Ruta, Joanne & Ruth, who not only manned the table for an hr or 2 but provided amazing home bakes or sweets
  • The Cardiothoracic & Physio dept: for all of their support for the day
  • To 53.3 Degrees & Mr Waffle: for keeping everyone stocked up on Caffeine & treats
  • To Jaycee printers: for printing the poster at such short notice
  • To all of the Visitors, Patients & Staff: that were so generous not just with their donations but with their time & genuine interest in wanting to know more about DSG & our members
It was really lovely…
And last but definitely not least, Michelle & Christine, who did such a fantastic job putting it all together..
The funds will be used to create a See & Learn teaching programme Library, https://www.seeandlearn.org/en-gb/ which will help children with DS improve their speech, language, reading & numeracy skills & will go towards funding the upkeep of our Beautiful DSG Centre in Claregalway.
